NK42: Motion Sickness of Time Travel “Penchant Mode” c32
nokingsrecord.co/post/44074274727/nk42-motion-sickness-of-time-travel-penchant-mode

"Working with sunnier sawtooth tones and a slightly more urgent pace than we heard on what are now classic releases such as Seeping Through The Veil… and her megalithic self-titled album, Rachel Evans recorded these two side-long tracks on Halloween last year and has captured some of that autumnal magic within them. “Initiation” has sharp angles, membranes of filtered synth expanding / contracting, and then bursting by surging high-frequency needles making intricate patterns, and side B’s “Growing Things” is liquid bubbles and dusty whirring; it could be the sound effects track to a time-lapse film of a tiny seed taking root and becoming a tree. Edition of 100 pro-dubbed chrome tapes with risograph artwork designed by L. Noble." - No Kings

Both tracks recorded live on October 31, 2012; electronics, synthesizers and voice.

about

Motion Sickness of Time Travel Georgia

"Prolific drone-maker Rachel Evans has a knack for shaping subtle rhythms, slow crescendos, and the wordless phrasings of her own voice... What makes it so enchanting is the way Evans melts her tones together; her vocals and synth seem to spawn each other. The result is a single, pure vision that just might make you believe there’s order in the universe." - Pitchfork ... more
